Wewak in East Sepik is all geared for the Sepik Ironmen Triathlon this weekend.
Two teams from Port Moresby and one from Vanimo will join locals in what is expected to be a form of entertainment for the people.
As teams are preparing for the Sepik Iron Man event this weekend,these children participated inthe Kid’s triathlon as a lead up tothe main event.
A total of 45 children withinthe Province participated with only 7 female participants.
They took part only in swimming and running in two age categories. First category ranges from ages 9 to 11 andthe second category from age 12 to 14.
The challenge attracted a huge crowd of supporters including parents.
All children participated received a medal and Weet Bex T’shirts. Prizes ofthe firstosecond and third placing will be awarded to winners atthe main presentation night for the Sepik Iron Man.
Meantime Organizing Committees are finalizing preparations and look forward to a good challenge atthe Sepik Iron Man Triathlon this Sunday.
