Capital Punishment

Whilethe Parliament has already decided thatthe death penalty will be implemented, a Papua New Guinea criminologist says faults withinthe justice system have not been fixed.

 

Dr. Garry Sali fromthe University of Technology in Lae, saysthe certainty of punishment isn’t guaranteed bythe police andthe courts andthe prisons.

 

He said whilethe punishment may be severe,there is no guarantee that potential criminals will not commit’serious crimes.
