Papua New Guinean boxer, Thadius Katua, snatched gold in the men’s boxing 60kg weight division on day five of the Commonwealth Youth Games in Apia, Samoa.
Katua faced Northern Ireland’s Bradley Tieman in the final, beating his opponent in the fourth round.
The 18-year-old from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, who won gold at the recent Pacific Games, has now gone on to prove himself on the world stage.
Katua and the rest of team PNG will return home on September 14.
