Trials for the Bougainville Rugby Football Union have begun, before the 2015 season kicks off.
In an interview with BRFU Rugby Development Manager and Black Orchid Coach, Kelly Havara said, “trials are hosted to determine number of teams competing in the competition.”
This year sees an increase in the number of teams in both under 19 and premier division.
After trials, the ‘Community Rugby Festival’ is hosted, that will kick-off from May 15 to 16.
The two-day event is in preparation for the 2015 Bougainville rugby union season.
Mr Havara said that the ‘Rugby Festival’ is a community-based concept, a platform to promote the code and raise awareness on issues affecting societies.
It’s conducted in constituencies with the partnership and support of non-government organisations and government entities, like police and health.
