Ase Boas Back in Five Eight and three Players Disciplined

Ase Boas returning to Papua New Guinea is a blessing for the SP PNG Hunters, with the former captain named in the starting line-up this weekend. His much needed experience is a boost for the 2017 premiers who have lost three games on the trot, Ase who was the player of the year in 2017 Intrust Super competition is replacing William Mone who has failed to impress coach, Michael Marum, in the three loses the team has suffered.

The round 4 Intrust Super Cup clash against the Easts Tigers is at Langlands Park in Brisbane this weekend. Three players will be making their debut this weekend; Shane Haro, Kevin Appo and Epel Kapinias will make their debuts as Hunters number 74, 75 and 76 respectively with Woods Kawage as Hunter No. 77 to come off the bench.

Three players from last week’s game against the Sunshine Coast Falcons, Joe Joshua, McKenzie Yei and Junior Rop were omitted for disciplinary reasons. The players did not arrive back at camp after the match, instead spent the night elsewhere and arrived on Monday at camp – the three have been disciplined by the team management. Jack Oii, Jerry Teme and Jordan Pat have been named on the extended bench.

Coach Michael Marum will finalise the travelling 18 man team on Thursday. They travel to Brisbane on Friday for the Intrust Super Cup Round 4 match against Easts Tigers at Langlands Park on Saturday (March 30, 2019) at 4.05pm – the Team will return on Sunday.
