Daru Customs Upgrade

By Stanley Ove Jnr – EMTV News, Port Moresby

PNG Customs has successfully completed the roll-out of the automated system for customs data in Daru, Western Province. The new system, called the ‘ASYCUDA WORLD’ is the first online clearance and accounting system for PNG Customs in the country.

Daru is now the 18th Border Port to have this system successfully installed. Other customs ports have successfully implemented this system however for Vanimo; it is yet to be implemented because of outstanding infrastructure issues at the Wutung Border Post.

Meanwhile, Kiunga, Tabubil, and Manus are the next ports for the ‘ASYCUDA WORLD’ roll out.
