Bank South Pacific Launch 2014 PNG Junior Golf Program

The Bank of south Pacific has continued with its sponsorship of the PNG Junior Golf Development Program, as the sport embarks on a medal target in the upcoming Pacific Games.

Initiated in 2013, the program aims to assist and develop aspiring young golfers, to pursue their ambitions.

 

As part of its Community Service Commitment to sport development in PNG, Bank South Pacific launched the 2014 PNG Junior Golf Program.

 

This is the 2nd year that the company has maintained its sponsorship ties with the program.

 

Last year, a total of 30 participants enrolled in the program and this year, they hope to boost that number to 50.

 

President of the PNG Golf Association, Stan Walker, thanked parents and volunteers for their support.

 

The program is part of an ambitious objective to deliver gold medals in the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby and this sponsorship, will no doubt further that goal.

 

Graham Bolton, the National Development Coach, expressed similar sentiments

 

A presentation of K200, 000 was made, and will go toward the payment of membership fees as well as toward purchasing specialized golfing equipment.
