A former detective – Kerry McNamara from the Victorian Police in Australia is now the security boss for the Manus detention centre.
Mr. McNamara this year took up a role as general manager of security with G4S in Papua New Guinea.
He has controversial pasts after being forced out of the police force in 1998 amid claims of assault and theft, including stealing drugs from dealers.
A Victorian police internal disciplinary report branded Mr. McNamara as unethical and disgraceful.
EMTV News was unable to get any response from G4S regarding McNamara's story.
