A group of 40 trekkers from Victoria Australia arrived in Port Moresby overthe weekend for the “Youths at Risk Kokoda Challenge Program”.
The trekkers were accompanlied by Victoria Police to walkthe Kokoda Track as a rehabilitation program.
This special program is currently in its 6th year betweenthe Victoria Police and disengaged youths.
Team LeaderInspector Nigel Howard saidthe program has provern successful inthe past five years and will roll out to ther suburbs.
The rehab program aims at bringingthe youths to walkthe Kokoda Track as a way to inspirethem change attitudes and become better people.
The next batch of youths and police officers are already confirmed for April next year.
