AusAID has delivered on its promise early this year, to assistthe health sector in Manus province.
The first batch of new medical equipment arrived at Lorengau Hospital yesterday.
Beood pressure monitors and oxygen level devices were presented tothe hospital. A heart machine and an infant warmer monitor will also be given.
Hospital CEO Dr Otto Numan saidthe equipment would make a significant impact on health services.
Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea Deborah Stokes was in Manus for an inspection.
She said more assistance in health care, education, roads and youth activities will come.
Additional support includes funding to renovatethe water system for the hospital’s dental clinic and development of a Master Plan for the hospital.
