Air Niugini set for Vanuatu in June

by EMTV Online

Air Niugini Limited is further extending its reach into the Pacific region with commencement of its flights to Port Vila, Vanuatu, via Solomon Islands.

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, highly commended the move since it was announced and said he would also like the Airline to extend its reach into the Asian countries including China and Hong Kong.

He added, since Papua New Guinea is situated just six to eight hours away from these countries, the National Airline should not only take advantage of that but build on it as well.

The commencement of flights to Vanuatu was announced by Air Niugini and its subsidiary company Link-PNG Chairman, Sir Fredrick Reiher, in Mt. Hagen, at the launching and naming of Air Niugini’s latest addition to the fleet. The new addition is a Fokker 70 which will fly to Vanuatu in June for the commencement of flights.

Mr. Reiher travelled with the Prime Minister, Public Enterprises and State Minister Mr. Ben Micah, Finance Minister James Marape and a host of guests for the launching.
