Former Australian PM Visits Boroko Police Station

Former Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott visited the Boroko Police Station, in Port Moresby this morning.

He was shown around a number of building infrastructures, which were erected at Boroko station, through the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership Program.

He was met by NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Ben Turi who took him on a tour around the station.

The tour began at the Sexual Offences Squad Unit, to the recently renovated cell blocks, Office of the Superintendent for Administrations and the Family Sexual and Violence Office.

Mr. Abbott also spent a few minutes speaking to police officers and survivors of family and sexual violence.

Mr. Abbott arrived in Papua New Guinea yesterday as a guest speaker for Anglicare’s 16th Anniversary.
