NGCB National Senior Netball Championships Begin Today

The NGCB National Senior Netball Championships began today with Day 1 of competition at the Rita Flynn Outdoor courts, Port Moresby.

Teams from around the country, which included, Alotau, East Sepik, West New Britain and Jiwaka, as well as hosts Port Moresby, all participated.

While Port Moresby will remain heavy favourites for this year’s title, strong contenders have come from the Central Province, as well as Lae.

Smaller centres in Goroka, Wewak and East New Britain also making an appearance after a long time away.

The 2016 titles is an important event for all players as they have the chance to be seen and selected into the open train-on squad for the Pepe’s as part of Netball PNGs two year, high performance program.

The two day tournament will host its finals on Saturday afternoon, with the stunning indoor complex the backdrop to top quality netball.
