Kumul Holdings Supports Tourism

Kumul Holdings Limited has presented K100,000 to the Tourism Promotion Authority to support tourism sector in the country.

This funding will go towards organising the PNG Tourism Conference and the Lukim PNG Exposition from September 21-27.

Officiating at the cheque presentation ceremony were Kumul Petroleum officials; Tourism Promotion Authority CEO, Jerry Agus; Marketing Director, Alice Kuaningi and PNG Tourism Association Executive Officer, Christine Peipul.

The total cost for the event is more than K450 thousand which the tourism sector has secured K380,000.

Speaking during the event Mr Agus said this is the first time a company within the mining and petroleum sector is supporting the country’s tourism industry with K100,0 00.

Mr Agus said this PNG Oil and Gas Company fully embraces the importance of the sector by supporting it in a big way.

He said the success of the tourism industry depends on other government institutions as well.

So far, contributions have come from Office of Arts and Culture K20,000; Investment Promotion Authority K10,000; PNG Ports K25,000 and National Airports Corporation.

Meanwhile, a total of 35 local exhibitors are set to showcase PNG Artefacts to international bidders at the Lukim PNG Expo.
