Lae’s Igam Road Needs Fixing

Lae’s Igam road, in the Morobe Province, is still in an appalling state.

This morning, during heavy rains, the road turned into a riverbed.

The road cuts through two districts of the Morobe Province- Huon and Lae, but little has been done to improve the roads condition.

During heavy downpour this morning, PMV buses and other vehicles were forced to drive through a flooded road.

The Igam road leads to a heavily populated tent city, the Igam army barracks and the Police mobile squad barracks.

It is also an alternative route for rural areas in the Nawaeb district.

The Morobe Provincial government still has to make it clear, if it has allocated funding into the roads rehabilitation.

The road is in the Huon district of the Morobe Province.
