Young Courtney Abel One of Netball PNG’s Best Prospects

Courtney Abel of Milne Bay and Gulf heritage is fast becoming one of netball PNG’s best prospects in recent years.

At 20 years of age, she has already debuted for the senior Pepes, and, with a lot of time on her side, has a bright future ahead of her.

With Lua Rikis her biggest inspiration, Abel’s determination remains second to none.

Abel is no stranger to the netball fraternity in PNG.

She has climbed up the ranks, playing in the national championships from a tender age of 14, scouted for the junior Pepes, and has featured for the senior team in Singapore once before.

Juggling a growing professional sporting career and a degree in Political Science and Development can be quite daunting for a 20-year-old, but what makes it so easy for Courtney is the type of people she surrounds herself with.

Her interest in Political Science however, comes with the passion of wanting to drive development in rural areas of Papua New Guinea.
