Olam Off to Melbourne Next Week

SP PNG Hunters Winger, Justin Olam, will be leaving to Melbourne next week where he will spend a week with the Melbourne Storm team. He has signed a two-year contract with the NRL club.

Olam will continue to play with the Hunters for the remainder of the season in the Intrust Super Cup before joining Melbourne in the summer for pre-season training.

After Sunday’s match, Olam will travel to Melbourne to meet Storm coach Craig Bellamy and the team. The humbled winger says he is excited and is looking forward to the trip.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to go and see the facilities in Melbourne and meet my future employers and friends,” he said.

Olam debuted for the Hunters this year and has gone onto greater heights over a rather short period of time.

With the outstanding performance of the SP PNG Hunters in the Queensland Intrust Super Cup over the years and the success in the test arena, hopefully this will see other players given the opportunity to try their skills in the NRL.
