The second trial selection for the National Netball team to represent Papua New Guinea for the World Youth Cup in September will be made on July 7-8 at the Rita Flynn Courts in the Nation’s Capital.
This selection will include current members of the train-on squad and other high performing players who are from Papua New Guinea but are based overseas.
High Performance Coordinator, Mona-Lisa Leka, said the inclusion of experienced players is to add value and competitiveness to the selection process.
The third trial selection will be made after a Friendly Match against the U21 Singaporean National team, while the final 12 will be selected in the upcoming camp in August.
The squad selected will represent PNG at the Regional World Cup
Qualifying Tournament in New Zealand, come September 2016.
The winner of the Regional World Cup will represent Oceania in the 2017, World Youth Cup in Botswana, Africa.
Overseas based players are required to send in letters expressing their interests including their player profiles, evidence of citizenship or eligibility, evidence of playing competitive netball and a confirmation letter from their local associations on their membership and affiliation.
