Inter-City Cup Results | Round 16

With the finals just around the country, most teams have made a last minute dash for the top eight finish over the weekend in round 16 of the Inter-city Cup.

A 28-point to 4 defeat over Mendi Muruks have assured the Tigers following that they are in the race for the Cup this year.

The Tigers add the mandatory 2-points to keep them at first place on the ladder.

In Mendi, defending Cup champions Hela Wigman made sure their intentions to defend their title was felt when they beat Agmark Gurias, 16-points to 6.

The Lahanis suffered a narrow loss in Goroka. In front of a home-crowd, at the NSI, the Lahanis match went down to the wire, Lions proving too strong, defeating the Lahanis 18-points to 17.

Over in the nation’s capital, the Hagen Eagles, ended the Port Moresby Vipers season with a narrow win, 7-points to 6.

Debutants, Waghi Tumbe may have just saved their chances to scrape into the final 8, defeating Gulf Isapeas, registering the biggest win of round 16, 37-points to-4.

The top eight will head into the finals this weekend, with both Port Moresby franchise in the prospects of being ruled out.
