A Memorandum of Agreement was signed today between the Nipa Kutubu and Mendi Munhiu District for a new road development.

The road will link the Nipa people to access Mendi town through the Lai Valley Local Level Government.

The road is the first ever to be constructed under the funding of the Asian Development Bank.

Speaking at the signing Mendi Munhiu, Mp De Kewanu said other services will ride on the road when its completed.

“Its good people are realising the need for services and have agreed to sign the MOA to see this road develop.” said MP Kewanu.

“Road is the priority for the district,” Kewanu said.

Nipa Kutubu Mp, Jeffrey Komal, was also present to witness the signing between the village elders.

MP Komal said it has taken over 3 years to fullfill this dream and the signing paves way for work to commence.

Komal called on the people of Lai Valley and Munhiu to be prepared and assist the contractor when road works begin.
