by Delly Waigeno – EM TV News, Port Moresby

Nambawan Super have launched a new Smartphone App.

The service will allow its members to access their statements and account details anytime, anywhere and on any Android and Apple devices.

The Smartphone App is the superfund’s latest addition to the activities it has embarked on to improve member services.

Businesses in PNG are adapting to the changing culture of technology usage. The country’s largest super fund, Nambawan Super, is no exception.

Taking advantage of the wide use of mobile phones, especially Smartphones, the new App service will allow members to see their transection history of contributions being credited to their accounts, housing advance eligibility, receive their latest balances and update their personal information including their contact details. Members can also see the beneficiaries they have listed.

Nambawan Super Chief Manager Member Services, Charlie Gilichibi, explained that activation on the App is simple and secure with a pin number to safeguard privacy and account security.

Nambawan Super Chief Executive Officer, Garry Tunstall, said that the new App is unique to superannuation funds.

He thanked everyone that worked on the development of the app including staff from Kina Investment & Superannuation Services, Financial Synergy and NSL.

Adam Fenech, General Manager of Kina Wealth Management, the fund administrator, said Nambawan Super has moved into the forefront of using technology.

The smart phone app is now available on Google Play and Apple’s iTunes store for downloads.

Mr Tunstall said Nambawan Super is currently in negotiations for its members to be able to have Smartphones at an affordable price.
