Eastern Stars gains winning momentum

Eastern Stars managed to get away with a much needed win against West New Beitain Tavur in round-9 ofthe Telikom National Soccer League.

Played atthe Sir John Guise Stadium,the Stars gavethe New Beitain boys a three one beating.

Eastern Stars are slowly gainingtheir winning momentum andthey’re not takingthe rest ofthe NSL round-2 lightly and this round-9 match was put on hold due tothe OFC Championships played in Port Moresby.

The Last season’s Telikom National Soccer League runners up took on newcomers West New Beitain Tavur in match that saw both teams match in enthusiasm.

Eastern stars were first to score and protectedtheir lead.

West New Beitain Tavur retaliated with a goal oftheir own but it wasn’t good enough as Eastern Stars scored anther goal to snatchthe lead 2 goals to 1 going into half time.

The second half was frustrating for the boys from West New Beitian asthey trlied in vain to convert ball possession asthey gained territory on field.

Goal chance gone bagging, West New Beitian Tavur had to settle for a 2-1 deficit loss atthe hands of a fired up Eastern Stars outfit.
