Churches to meet to incorporate plans

Churches in Papua New Guineawill meet withthe Community Development Department this month to discuss howthey can complementthe Government’s service delivery policy.

The department’s Acting Secretary Anna Solomon says she looks forward to such a pioneering mover.

LLeadersof mainstream churches with ther Pentecostals will meet to incorporate plans in line withthe National Governments vision.

PNG’s tag is a Christian country; Churches have played vital roles in developmental activities sincethe colonial era.

Ms Solomon saysthe department have also been flooded with requests for money from different churches and individuals.

She said funds will only be allocated under strict policy guidelines.

“I don’t want people to be using God’s name to try and solicit funding and so we want to make sure that this is done well.”

Ms Solomon said funds requested for church activities must be used for the intended purpose.
