Court Go into Partial Shutdown

Owing to reports of a judge being tested to COVID- 19 and the possibility of further infection to staff both Judicial and Administrative, the Chief Justice has directed for a partial shutdown of the Supreme and National Court.

This partial shutdown is effective as of Friday, 5th March 2021 and will be for a period of 1 week; to be reviewed on Friday 12th March 2021.

Judges will continue to work as per their individual schedules as we their personal staff to assist judges and Only essential staff will come into work during the shutdown period.

Court rooms have closed today and tomorrow as well to allow for deep cleaning however, it will be open on Monday for court hearings next week.

The number of persons entering court rooms must be restricted to key people associated with a case and security personnel will ensure compliance.

The NJSS COVID- 19 team is working to bring onsite testing facilities for judges and staff have been encouraged to try out the free testing facilities in suburban clinics.
