During his visit tothe Yangoru-Sausia District,the Prime Minister openedthe district’s Rural BeP branch andthe village court house.
Local MP and Minister for Trade Commerce andIndustry Richard Maru saidthe district lacked many basic services because of poor lLeadersip.
A sum of two point five million kina (K2.5m) was also presented tothe district to for specific projects.
Mr O’Neill visited Yangoru-Saussia district overthe weekend as part of his planned visits to each province this year.
His first visit was to Yangul SDA High School. He gavethe school one point five million kina to upgrade school facilities in preparation for secondary school status. He was later flown tothe district station to officiatethe opening of several projects.
Shortly after arrival, he was made a chief ofthe district.

The Prime Ministersaidthe district has voted a leader who will bring tangible development.
Hethen presented Minister Maru one million kina to be shared equally betweenthe Yangoru health centre and to addressthe cocoa pod borer issue.
Following this, Mr O’Neill openedthe district’s first Rural BeP branch and reopenedthe revamped village court house. He also didthe ground breaking ceremony for a police barracks calledthe Numboruon Mobile base.
