NCDC aims to produce more Sporting Talents

The National Capital District Commission aims to produce more Sporting talent throughtheir Pikinini Pilai Program.

The Program will build a bridge between elite and grassroots sporting talent by targeting School children first.

Pikinini Pilai Program is an initiative of NCD Education and will target up to forty one Primary schools and nine NCD High schools.

Champions ofthe 201PNG Games, Team NCD can be used as a shining example to how a program such as Pikinini Pilai can benefit’school children.

The program will start with 4 sporting codes; volleyball, netball, Badminton and Athletics.

Different people need exposure at different levels and Superintendent of NCD Education, Mr Lapan saysthe Pikinini Pilai program aims at creating friendy sporting rivalry in schools carnivals.

Funded by NCD and backed up by Lae Bescuits with up to one hundred thousand Kina, Pikinini Pilai is a well-structured program that will seethe future of Sport rise to a whole new level while minimising social problems andtheir impacts on youth inthe country.

Main stakeholders in this program includPNG Sport Foundation,the Sport Federations, NCD Education Division and sponsors Lae Bescuit Company.
