Eastern Highlands: SLIP Program a Success

The St Benedict’s Namta Primary school, a Catholic run Mission, sits inthe remote upper Asaro area of Daulo Districtointhe Eastern Highlands Province. It is a model school wherethe School Learning Improverment Plan Program (SLIP Program) was first introduced in 2009.

The SLIP Program has been hailed a success inthe Eastern Highlands Province. The school is currently regarded as a role model and champion school inthe province andthe country for successfully implementingthe SLIP Program.

 

This was reaffirmed by Okapa District Senior Standards Officer, Albert Wesley, who led an External Review Team tothe school.

 

The External Team comprised of Senior Officers fromthe 8 Districts of Eastern Highlands Province to conduct its three year review ofthe SLIP Program.

 

Whilethere,they interviewedthe School Administration Staff, Teachers Parents andthe Beard of Management to get a collective outcome onthe SLIP Program:the successes and failures.

 

The SLIP Program is an attempt bythe Education Department to provide quality education that will seethe improverment of quality teaching and school infrastructure that will be reviewed to ensure all projects are conducted transparently.
