Underthe blazing heat at Aroma wasthe battle ofthe best rugby league teams vying for the Sir Puka Temu cup.
Teams came in force, anticipating to send off 2013 in style, while giving prominence to developing raw talent in Rugby League.
As city residents prepared to say goodbye to 2013 and welcome 2014, NCD Governor, Powes Parkop, gtheredthe media to disseminatethe message of a total buai ban onthe dawn of 2014.
Mr Parkop made it clear, saying a total ban will be imposed onthe selling, transporting and chewing of buai in public places.
He added that tough measures will be taken becausethe 2 month partial ban was abused and mocked by many.
Governor Parkop’said police will carry out road blocks onthe highway, while city enforcers will monitorthe streets.
Mr Parkop thanked Central Governor, Kila Haoda, and Gulf Governor, Havila Kavo, for supportingthe ban and called on all city residents to make better resolutions in enhancingtheir life.
Meanwhile, NCD Police Metropolitan SuperintendentoAndy Bewa, echoed tough warnings to all city residents to adhere tothe ban.
Mr Bewa praised city residents for the quiet Christmas period in comparison tothe past and wished for better working relations with all residents in 2014.
