Nipa-Kutubu Highway A Nightmare

The Nipa-Kutubu’section ofthe Highlands Highway is a nightmare says District Administrator Robin Pip.

This picture taken by Mr Pip showsthe devastating road condition,the wear and tear of constant heavy traffic flow fromthPNG LNG project and ther road users.

 

A bridge at Utupia village collapsed overthe weekend, villagers have built a by-pass and have charged K50 for every cross-over.

 

Mr Pip and village elders say asthe road connects Komo Hide gas, Kutubu oil field, Moran Oil field, Southwest Mananda,the government must fix it immediately.

 

He said many lLeadersalongthe highway includinPMV owners and concern citizens are frustrated, and said government’should give this road as priority number one.
