New Workshop for Hagen Technical College

Mt. Hagen Technical College will see major infrastructure developments after providing quality education training and research for the past 30 years.

This weekthe Head of Aus Aid tPNG, Stuart Schaefer, officiatedthe commencement ofthe 9.9 million kina infrastructure project.

 

The K9.9 million project will changethe dimensions ofthe college to meet polytechnical standards in learning and training.

 

Mr. Schaefer saidthe Australian Government will continue to support such projects ifthe institution meetsthe incentive fund criteria. He sain PNG and Australia are prioritizingthe delivery of aid infrastructure.

 

Schaefer added that partnership in development of key areas is a priority.

 

Dr. Joseph Sukwianomb from Vision 2050 called on stakeholders to work togther and establishthe status ofthe institutions.

 

“Hagen Technical will becomethe second polytech institution inthe country”, Dr. Sukwianomb said.

 

The new buildings consist of a state-ofthe art heavy equipment diesel filter workshop containing 11 classrooms, double story dormitories for boys and girls, 6 staff houses and a water supply system.

 

College Principal Henry Mambil was grateful to seethe college receive this major facelift.

 

“…the college will reach new heights with this development taking place…”, Mr. Mambil said.

 

The project is a partnership funding from AusAid anPNGIncentive Fund program.
