The government has startedthe process to cancelthe passport issued toIndonesian Djoko Tjandra.
Chief Secretary tothe Government Manasupe Zurenuoc yesterday wrote to Foreign Affairs Minister Rimbink Pato advisitg that Mr. Tjandra’s passport can be cancelled under law.
Mr. Tjandra obtained hin PNG passport under controversial circumstances. The issuance ofthe passport is nowthe subject of an investigation bythe Department of Justice and Attorney General.
Tjandra recently changed his passport name to Joe Chan.
The government learnt that after securingthe name change, Tjanda obtained visas to Taiwan and Japan.
Mr. Tjandra is currently wanted byIndonesia authorities and has an outstanding arrest warrant issued inIndonesia.
