Papua New Guinea, host to this year’s Pacific Media Assistance Scheme Workshop, welcomes delegates from Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji.
The five day Sports Commentary workshop is led by senior judge and journalist in Sports Radio, Brendon Telfer, in the hope to equip journalists with profound knowledge of commentating, and further develop their skills in sports reporting.
This workshop is a vital stepping stone for all participants, as the Pacific Region embarks on the journey towards the 2015 Pacific Games.
The Media is sure to play a vital role in bringing the Pacific Games closer to the people of the Pacific; and what better way to enhance the knowledge of our region’s journalists, than under the guidance of profound radio sports reporter and commentator, Brendon Telfer.
Mr. Telfer, an iconic figure in the world of journalism, comMen’s the talent that lies in the shores of not just Papua New Guinea, but the Pacific Region, and aims on assisting each individual to excel to the best of their abilities, especially with such a grand sporting event, come 2015.
Forced to step outside of their comfort zones, delegates now have the confidence to take on 2015 with the hope to showcase the region’s finest talents.
Rolland Ko’ofuli, senior radio producer of Solomon Islands Broadcasting Centre, believes this workshop will not only benefit himself as an individual, and the media in Solomon Islands, but the media as a whole in the Pacific region.
A mixture of both amateur and senior journalists, all delegates have been given the opportunity to exchange experiences and are looking forward to working together towards the Pacific Games.
