POM Touch team off to Brisbane

The Port Moresby Corporate Touch Team left the country today for the Indigenous touch Carnival to be held this weekend in Brisbane.

This Sport and Cultural Festival is an event providing opportunity for indigenous development players to showcase their skills and talents.

The Port Moresby Corporate touch team comprises of 11 boys and 5 girls.

The players were selected from this year’s competition.

Tournament Director Simon Dari Pih says, the team is well prepared and is set to take other indigenous teams in Australia.

They will play in the men’s open and in the Open Mix.

Dari Pih says, the travel arrangement was made possible with the assistance from Pacific MMI with a cheque of K16 000.

Pacific MMI Executive Assistant Wari Sariman handed over the cheque on behalf of CEO Wayne Dorgan…….wishing the POM Corporate Touch luck.
