No Sale of PPL assets proposed

The Managing Director of Independent Public Business Corporation (IPBC), Mr Thomas Abe, said today there had never been any proposal to sell any PNG Power assets to anyone during the current negotiations about the possible rehabilitation of Port Moresby’s power supply.

He was responding to an interview on EMTV news with a former PPL board member, Mr Noel Mobiha.

He said at no time has there ever been any plan to sell PPL assets to anyone. He added that under the Government’s proposals to fix power supplies across the nation, all Port Moresby’s generation assets would remain in the hands of PPL.
