Australian arrested for defrauding States K1 million

A second Australian citizen has been arrested and charged for fraud related offences as Task-Force Sweep continues its relentless efforts in curbing white colour crime in PNG.

Leonard Patrick Capon, aged 68, was arrested and charged for defrauding the State more than K1million.

The Department of National Planning, in 2010 paid Capon’s company for a mini hydro power project in Komo Magarima District of the new Hela Province

Investigations reveal that the project was never delivered.

He is now out on a K10, 000 police bail.
