NRI to Conduct Stakeholders Workshop to Formulate New Policy

By Lorraine Gabina – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The National Research Institute is formulating a new Universal Basic Education Policy Research Framework.

The NRI has been making vital contributions towards influencing and shaping education interventions, education dialogue, and practice through its Universal Basic Education Research Program over the past few years.

Made possible by stakeholder collaboration and support, this research framework will respond to data needs of the Department of Education in particular and other stakeholders, more broadly; to inform planning, policy development and advocacy, and programming at different levels.

NRI will conduct a one-day workshop at 9am on December 10, at the NRI Conference Centre; the main objective of this workshop is to draft the policy in a closed conference involving only invited stakeholders.

NRI strongly urges stakeholder participation as it will be crucial to NRI’s continuous efforts to make education research, monitoring and evaluation relevant to the data needs of Papua New Guinea’s education system going forward.
