The Sirinumu Dam in Sogeri, Central province is experiencing a steady water level, PNG Power reports.
It stated in its daily Sirinumu Dam level update that there continues to be little or no rain water at all within the dam catchment area.
PNG Power reports that as of Tuesday January 13, the water level continues to be steady on 46%, which is 157 Million Cubic Metres below spill level.
This means the water level is below the half way mark of 170 million cubic metres.
Following the drop in water level, PNG Power is urging Port Moresby residents to manage how they are using both water and electricity.
Below are some measures that can be taken to reduce or save the amount of electricity and water:
• All electrical appliances, lights and fans should be turned off when not in use.
• Air conditioning temperatures must be set at 24 degrees
• Use only one power point and
• Refrain from overloading power points.
