The Gahuku Off-Season Rugby League Competition in the Eastern Highlands Province is one of the biggest off-season competitions in the country.
The well-funded off-season competition, which is now into round seven, consists of 28 teams from both the rural and urban parts of the Goroka District.
The competition, which began in the 1980s, has produced some of the best inter-city cup players as well as those who have played representative rugby in the Kumuls and Hunters jerseys respectively, along the likes of Stanley Gene, Adex Wera and Noel Zemming.
With four rounds to go before knockouts, the Gahuku Off-season Rugby League Competition Treasurer, Alfred Atuso, is confident of discovering more raw talent and has promised some new exciting performances.
