PNGDF Soldier Exposes Ted Diro Bullies After Physical Assault on His Son

by Mickey Kavera – EM TV, Port Moresby

Six grade eight students attending Ted Diro Primary School were arrested this afternoon by the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) Military Police.

Their arrest comes after they allegedly physically assaulted a grade seven student, who is the son of a senior PNGDF soldier.

Major Frank Pomoso, who is the father of the victim, rounded up the bullies after conducting his own investigations. He identified the students from amateur footage of his son, which was uploaded to social media sites.

Ted Diro Primary School Board Chairman Kingston Evari issued a stern warning to the students involved. He said bullying is an ongoing issue in the school and commended Major Pomoso for exposing it.

A decision will be made on the fate of the students once the school’s governing council submits their recommendation to the education department. Of the six students, three were released, while three other ringleaders were taken to the Boroko Juvenile Cell for formal charges to be laid.

Major Frank Pomoso will take legal action against the students once the charges are formalised.
