Awaba Switched On

Nineteen thousand people of Awaba, in the Western Province, are now able to tune in to EMTV on their televisions.

On Tuesday this week, EMTV engineering technicians, completed the setting up of the transmission station at Awaba, allowing people in the district, to capture the EMTV signal.

Awaba is the second of designated areas within Western Province, targeted to provide efficient coverage of the EMTV broadcast signal.

Last month, Balimo was brought online, and there are several other areas within the province, that will soon follow.

Balimo has an approximate population of 19,000.

This project is part of an agreement between Media Niugini Limited, and the Western Provincial government, for the provision of television services to all electorates in the province.

Both Balimo, Awaba and the next site to be set up, will be part of EMTV’s changeover in decoders program, which, of the 18th of this month, will ensure better quality and broadcast coverage.
