Following the launching of their campaign in April, 10 kickboxers will take the ring for the WKF Welter Weight K-1 Rule title fight between our own Rickson ‘ The Powerhouse’ Yamo, and Norwegian Jarrko”, the Turbo Diesel’ Jursila.
The fighters are confident in their preparations leading up to the title fight, come next month.
This will be the second time Rickson will face Jarrko, and he is very confident in taking this fight under his belt on home soil.
The partnership between Tru Warrior Gym and the kickboxers have not only given them a venue to train, but an opportunity to allow the kickboxers to assist trainers in conducting self-defence classes.
This equips the kickboxers to strengthen and build community relationships as well as growth in the discipline.
Rickson hopes to realise his ambition to develop young fighters, and later mold them up to pro-kickboxing level, where the resulting exposure will gain support from the Kickboxing fraternity and enthusiasts.
He is firm on his appeal to the Minister of Sports to reconsider his submission which was rejected early this year.
Rickson and his team remain positive and of their support to utilize the title fight to expose and allow the amateur kickboxer’s to different levels of competition, to gain more experience.
Head Trainer of Tru Warrior Gym, Tala Kami, upon confirmation, has also announced that Lee ‘ the Flash’ Garap, will so be competing in his respective Mui-Thai title.
