Bowls In The Southern Region A Success

PNG Defence Force Bowling Club hosted yet another successful Bowling Pairs competition.

The Men’s Bowling Pairs welcomed a fair share of newcomers. Most recognizable of all was a handful of Rugby Players, alongside others from different sporting codes.

Although teams have been finalised to travel to the Commonwealth Games, this weekend’s tournament played an impartial role in composing a train on squad for the PNG Games later this year.

Slowly but surely, the sport is reeling in a number of potential bowling superstars. Vice President of PNG Defence Force Bowling Club, Jerry Kusa, was impressed to see individuals expressing interest in the sport.

Taking care of both NCD and Central Province bowlers, the PNG Defence Force Bowling Club is the only bowling association in the Southern Region.

PNGDF Bowling Club is not only known for its endless support from the National Bowling Executives, but for producing Gold Medalist at the Commonwealth Games, Geua Tau.

Mr. Kusa was also pleased to announce today that the unoccupied area opposite the Bowling Club will be developed into two green playing fields in time for the Pacific Games next year.
