Papua New Guinea’s Private institution, Institute of Asia Pacific of Applied Social, Economic and Technical Studies accreditation with the University of Goroka will educate school leavers to further their University studies.

This follows the signing of an agreement today in Port Moresby by UOG Vice Chancellor, John Kola, and APIASETS Managing Director, Thomas Pillar.

Asia Pacific Institute of Applied Social, Economic and Technological studies called APIASETS, is a privately run institution that offers certificate and diploma courses in technical, business, tourism and hospitality, aviation and maritime.

He added that ‘D Day’ was the outcome of his tireless efforts in creating an avenue for school leavers to attain educational qualifications.

“This partnership also plays a vital role in the development of PNG’s human resource which targets an estimated 75,000 school leavers in the country.

This comes at a time where the Government’s Tuition Fee Free Education policy implemented in all school levels across the country is expecting more schools leavers at the end of this academic year.

Institution lawyer, Rickson Tokea, said the signing of this instrument is legally binding and between these two institutions.
