Member for Kerema, Richard Mendani, announced today that he has joined the opposition.

Mendani said he has resigned from the United News Party and will now join PNG Party, led by Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah.

The announcement of Mendani’s move was made at a media conference this afternoon.

Namah, happily welcomed Mendani into the party fold.

Also present at the announcement was PNG Party General Secretary, Kila Poka, and other members of the party.

Mendani’s move now brings the number of PNG Party members in parliament up to two. On that note, Namah said that the PNG Party was well and truly alive.
