An educationist has called for more efforts to control the number of school drop outs.
John Rumints, Executive Director of Papua New Guinea National News Development Services says, the education system has failed many students.
He has set up his own school aimed at giving a second chance to school drop outs.
Mr Rumints is concerned about the increasing number of school leavers.
He believes that trend could be reversed through alternative modes of education.
He has founded the Papua New Guinea National News Development Services Secondary School primarily to give a second chance to students to enter formal schooling.
The government has invested heavily in education but the problem persists he says.
Rumints says, funding is just part of the solution, but a more conducive learning environment can make a huge difference.
PNG National News Development Services will be conducting enrolment for its campuses in Port Moresby’starting on Monday 2nd February.
