Ase Improves in Playing Style

By Elijah Lavett – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

SP PNG Hunters halfback, Ase Boas, says he has drastically improved over the past few years regarding his playing style in the position.

This year he was lucky enough to have his younger brother, Watson, join him in the Hunters team. Ase says having his little brother join the team and playing alongside him is what’s helping him to become a better player.

Ase has improved in his style of playing over the years, and says this year he is able to read plays better and is more alert during a match.

Every rugby league player in Papua New Guinea has dreams and goals to one day play in the NRL and put on the red, black and gold jersey.

With the upcoming Pacific Test match between the PNG Kumuls and the Fiji Batis on May 7, Boas is hoping to be selected into the Kumuls squad.

The Kumuls team for the Pacific Test will be announced later this week.
