President of the Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association, Jenny Paak, says the new infrastructure at Bisini continues to provide certain challenges.
The new infrastructure development has resulted in softball diamonds at Bisini reduced from three to only two, because of the 2015 Pacific Games.
Although a challenge, the association ensures matches are played on time.
“We have to squeeze in our games. We start from 8am to 5pm, so we are coping because we can’t do much,” she said.
Paak also gave an update on the competition, which is now in round two of its season.
“We will have to call off games at the end of this month, because of the National Softball Championship, that NCD will host.
“However, we will continue after that,” she added.
The Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association is also preparing two teams for the upcoming National Softball Championship.
“We will have two women’s teams competing in the National Championship. Our sponsor is Pacific MMI,” she said.
Meanwhile, match officials speaking off camera have called on the PNG Sport Foundation to ensure it delivers its promises, by ensuring the infrastructure is fully completed.
