In a first time ever, Papua New Guinea’s national airline, Air Niugini, will be having a heavily discounted independence flash sale in commemoration with the country’s 44th independence anniversary, giving Papua New Guineans the chance to travel to any domestic destinations in the country.
Costing just K44 per sector (plus taxes and airport charges), Air Niugini states that bookings for this special fares will only be made between 14th to 16th September with travel permitted only within the month of October, 2019.
“This is the first time for ANG to trial such heavily reduced domestic airfares and we encourage Papua New Guineans to take advantage of this exciting promotion. Seats are limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis.” Air Niugini Managing Director, Alan Milne, stated during the announcement.
Bookings can be made online through the Air Niugini website, www.airniugini.com.pg which allows customers to book and pay online with credit or debit cards. Another payment option is for customers to choose the ‘pay later’ option as the form of payment. However, payment has to be made within 24 hours.
Mobile banking can also be used to make payments for these independence flash sales which is available to BSP mobile banking customers using Digicel and Bmobile numbers. The process is as follows:
– Obtain the booking reference and cost of your travel itinerary
– Dial *131# and select:
a) Payments, then
b) Ticket payment, then
c) Air Niugini and follow the prompts
– Customer receives an SMS confirmation of the transaction.
