Suspended NCD Metropolitan Superintendent, Ben Turi has been requested to present himself to Police for questioning, regarding the legal detention of an Asian Businessman and local immigration officials.
In a statement released from the Commander of NCD and Central Division, Sylvester Kalaut, the suspended Met Sup was accused of illegally entering a room where the businessman was and locked him up at the Gerehu Police station.
Police alleged that the businessman was in Papua New Guinea without a proper Visa.
However, the suspended Met Sup told EMTV News, he was acting on National Court Order to arrest the man and question why the matter was pursued one year and four months after its alleged date of occurrence.
Turi denied the allegations and said he will not go in for questioning. The Copies of the court order were presented to EMTV News.
