Moresby North West has some notable candidates like former Prime Minister, Sir Mekere Mourata, the National Capital District city manager, Honk Kiap, and Lawyer Philip Ame.
Among the candidates is one woman candidate, Selly Anne Mioks, nominated today.
People Movement for change candidate, Rawali Bokuki, was also nominated.
Returning Officer, Moka Havara, has confirmed that as of 4pm today a total of 21 candidates have submitted their nominations.
Meanwhile another candidate who submitted nominations is Ken Siminji, from Western Highlands, but says he is the adopted son of a Motu-Koitabu chief.
Siminji wants to be the voice of the Motu-Koitabu people in Moresby North West.
He also hopes this national election will allow people to realise that development is needed, and to vote for the right leader.
Sitting member, Michael Malabag, is expected to submit his nomination tomorrow.
